As for my lovely picture above. Before things went seriously south with Brandon's job we had planned what was suppose to be the best birthday I've ever had, after all it was my big 30. A trip to California just me and him, walks on the beach and of course sixflags were all in our sights and our hearts. Unfortunately because of the sudden termination we had change our plans and get Gavin in quick to get a T&A. The poor little guy had touching tonsils and they were so swollen that it impaired his breathing. We had previously scheduled the surgery for March but had to move it up to February because our insurance was ending. Needless to say the best birthday ever turned into a bunch of pre-op stuff instead. The good news is that the surgery went great and Gavin came out fine. He cried and screamed a lot more than I remember Austin doing, but after about 10 days he was great, has healed just fine and we are on our way to a much happier kid.
So with all the stress of everything me and Brandon have really been getting on each others nerves. One day I asked him why he was so freak'n ornery about things and he tells me how upset he was about the trip and how he now officially hates the month of February. I told him welcome to my life I've always hated the month between birthday and valentines seriously talk about crappy combination! After a few I tell him to re-plan the trip. He looked at me like I was crazy. I said why not, we have the cash saved, yes we could be responsible and not go and pay off bills, but in some retrospect why not? Why not go and relax for once in 5 years with out the kids, kick off our grown up shoes and play in the sand. Long story short, so we did.
The picture is of Malibu Beach in California. We dropped the kids off at his moms house in St. George on Friday and drove down to California. We had a ton of fun, we stayed at the cheapest place we could, ate cheap, even made cheap entertainment. Brandon found $20 off coupons for 6 flags and other than gas nothing we spent went over a total of $250 bucks. Totally worth it in the end and of course completely random. We picked up the kids in St. George on Sunday, but decided not to drive back home until Monday.
I always get a kick out of random signs.
Food markets/gas stations/street signs, I just love to see the names people come up with. Besides who can resist a fresh and easy store?
I can't tell if we look tired, or just relaxed. Seriously this was one trip that was so totally worth it. Even if we shouldn't have, we so needed it.
Now that I've come back to reality, I wonder what is in store for us?

I bet you will be moderating this so I had better not put anything crazy on here! I'm glad you had a good time on your trip. Thanks for all your hard work and Brandon for his help too!
Your hair is so cute!!! Glad you had some fun! You're right everyone needs to do that once in a while.
