1.5 years and some major modifications later.... Its done!

So I told you about our bathroom remodels and the free countertops we received, well it inspired Brandon to re-think our kitchen countertops. When all was said and done he ordered some more and viola! They are here and installed! But first will do a look back at what this kitchen originally looked like when we bought this house in June of 2007!
Here we have our beautiful oak cabinets decored with some fashionable gold knobs from the late 90's.....
Next the flooring is high grade linoleum (river stone "look") for a sure to be eye catching pleaser......
To off set the wonderfully pink powdery counter tops we have some lovely light blue walls!
Then there is the pink blinds... I can't actually make up anything nice to say about that.... Its just hideous!
The appliances were high-end, unfortunately not in the best of conditions, but the white definitely tied this kitchen pleaser all together....
(Not pictured)is the fluorescent lighting fixture above... This has been recycled into our laundry room, although it probably should go out with the rest of this kitchen ensemble....
Here we see some slight changed... New stainless steel appliances is the first thing you notice....
Then there is the flooring... hmm could that be pergo? Why yes, yes it is.... I eyed that one in the store and it ended up matching the oak cabinets perfect...
Then the one thing you wouldn't notice, yet it is very important the cupboard knobs were changed to a brushed nickel...
Oh its on its way!
Here we see more floor and of course a new dishwasher, this was the last appliance to be replaced largely due to the fact that we didn't want to buy a new one because of costs, but when the old one died. There wasn't a choice...

Here we can see the "bar" lovely as always....
What you might notice now is also the paint... Its an off white, we were expecting to paint a little more bold, but decided against it because of the powdery pink countertops.
You also might notice that the blinds have been changed to an updated wood looking white, this was a must to do when we moved in...

Here is the before kitchen over view. You can see the lighting fixture that we chose was a more modern track lighting with movable fixtures, we also added a can light above the sink and three above the "bar".

And now for something totally amazing!!!!!

Here is the after over view! These countertops are amazing in this room and I believe make it look a lot more sophisticated. I love it....

It makes the appliance's look so much better.

There are no words for my happiness!

When we decided we were going to do this we thought an actually bar would be nice... So we added a little length to the new countertops and well you can see we now have a bar to eat at.

I would just like to say thank you to my husband for taking the time to get this done and for doing such a wonderful job. I would also like to thank Jen for letting us barrow Dennis last night to help us get this done. And last I would like to thank my parents for coming over to help us!
Thanks to all that had a hand in helping us get this done, it just so nice I can't even think of a better word to use on how much I love it!

It looks great. I love the counter tops. I wish we could get new ones, and your are welcome .....Dennis had nothing better to do last night anyway. All he was doing was sitting on his butt playing xbox.

That countertop makes a HUGE difference! I'm so glad you finally got it finished. I think we completed our last project the day before putting our house on the market. I hope you enjoy yours a little longer than we did.
